This August, Southside ReLeaf is proud to participate in Idealist Days — a global movement that brings people together to take positive action in their communities through service, connection, and local impact.

Join us as we continue caring for the park space at Reedy Creek Wetland, a beautiful loop path in the Beaufont neighborhood. This volunteer opportunity focuses on litter cleanup in the park, from the wetland and creek, to help create a cleaner, healthier environment for residents and visitors alike.

What?

Volunteers will help remove litter and debris from the wetland area using provided tools like trash grabbers and bags. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit and enjoy this beautiful green space and cooler temperatures under the canopy.

When?

Saturday, August 8, 2026
8 – 10 a.m. (2 hours)

Where?

Reedy Creek Wetland, 6102 Lamar Drive, Richmond 23225. Using your GPS, navigate to 6102 Lamar Drive. This address will get you closest to the park’s walking access path. Ideally, park by the median of the Beaufont Court loop or along Lamar Drive and walk over.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.
