Volunteer & Engage

At Southside ReLeaf, everyone has a role to play in growing a greener, healthier, and more connected Southside. Whether you have a few hours to give or a special skill to share, there are many ways to support our work. Explore the four T’s below to find what feels right for you.

A group of four volunteers works together to prepare the root ball of a young tree for planting at Boushall Middle School.

Give Your Time

Your time makes a direct impact in neighborhoods across Richmond’s Southside. Most of our volunteer opportunities are hands-on greening activities out in the field — planting trees, caring for young trees, maintaining community spaces, and more.

Give Your Talent

Skilled volunteers help us strengthen our organization from the inside out. If you have professional expertise or specialized experience, we’d love to partner with you.

We are especially seeking support in:

  • Spanish language outreach & translation

  • Database and organizational systems management

  • Policy research and policy writing

Other talents are welcome — from fundraising to video production, education, technical assistance with greening projects, and more.

If you’d like to lend your skills to Southside ReLeaf, reach out to Brandi at hello@southsidereleaf.org.
