Blackwell Park Litter Pickup & Beautification

  • Blackwell Park 1400 Maury Street Richmond, VA, 23224 United States (map)

Southside ReLeaf invites you to join us in a litter pickup event as we show some love to the newly upgraded Blackwell Park and the surrounding area!

When?

Friday, February 13, from 10 am - 12 pm.

Where?

Blackwell Park (also known as Charlie Sydnor Playground) is at 1400 Maury Street, Richmond, 23224. Parking is available in the new permeable parking lot. You may also park on Maury Street and in the adjacent neighborhood if the lot is full.

Volunteer Duties?

Volunteers will collect litter from the park property, nearby streets, and other areas to maintain the newly installed permeable parking lot, walking trail, bioretention area, nature-inspired playground, and green spaces, where nearly 90 trees were planted this past fall. The goal is to beautify and care for the area near the park.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Tools and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own equipment if you prefer.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes! Please sign up through CFengage. If you have any questions about this event, please email Lisa at lisa@southsidereleaf.org.
