Join Southside ReLeaf for a fall tree planting at Boushall Middle School! Trees provide shade, lift our mood, provide wildlife habitat, sequester carbon, and help cool our city. We’ll be planting 50 or more trees to enhance Boushall Middle School’s landscape.
When?
Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9 am to 1 pm. If you would like to arrive late or leave early, please commit a minimum of two hours to being onsite.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers will be planting trees in pre-augered holes. Training on how to plant a tree will be provided at the beginning of the day. Volunteers will use tools including shovels, wheelbarrows, and others to loosen tree roots, maneuver a tree into its new home in the ground, and spread mulch.
Where?
Boushall Middle School, 3400 Hopkins Road, Richmond 23234.
What should I bring?
Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.
Do I need to sign up?
