“Ivy League” Invasive Species Removal at Ernest Road Park - 2/19

Join Southside ReLeaf for seasonal invasive species maintenance at Ernest Road Park by removing English Ivy from the walking trail. By clearing the ground of invasive ivy this spring, we’ll allow the native plants we planted this fall to flourish, continuing the ecological restoration of this natural space.

When?

Thursdays from February 19 to March 26, from 10 - 11:30 am. All dates include:

  • March 5

  • March 12

  • March 19

  • March 26

Volunteer Responsibilities  

Volunteers will be removing English Ivy by hand. Removal will include bending, kneeling, and pulling. For anyone interested in helping but uncomfortable with any of these activities, please reach out before the workday. Removal of tree-climbing ivy is an alternate task we can offer.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.
