Mobility University is a FREE, intensive 5-week course provided by RVA Rapid Transit to educate and empower bus riders to self-advocate for better public transportation. Explore Richmond’s transit history and tackle big questions like:

  • Who makes decisions about our transit system?

  • Where does the funding for Zero Fare come from?

  • How can you make your voice heard?

Participants build real skills--from writing powerful public comments to sharing your personal story and organizing a community campaign.

Session Topics

  • Local History of Transit + Arrested Mobility

  • State of Transit Report & RVA Rapid Transit’s Work

  • Transit Governance & Funding

  • Power Mapping

  • How to Tell Your Story

  • How to Testify at a State and Local meeting

  • Walkability & Active Transportation

Training Dates

Sessions will be held for five consecutive Wednesdays from 5:30 - 8 pm starting October 1 and ending October 29, 2025.
