Kick off celebrating another Richmond Tree Week with a tree care day in Davee Gardens, a historic Southeast Richmond neighborhood! Meet other tree lovers, learn more about the events happening all week long, and help take care of young trees. Let's celebrate reforesting Richmond for a 7th year!

What?

Volunteers will be assisting with raking, weeding, and remulching trees to help them to continue to grow strong.

When?

Sunday, November 1, 2026
9 – 11 a.m. (2 hours)

Where?

We will meet at the old T.B. Smith Community Center at 2015 Ruffin Road. Park near the community center or anywhere in between the center and Reyburn Rd. and Deerwood Rd., where the tree care work will take place. If you arrive late, GPS to 3412 Reyburn Rd. to find the group.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.

Richmond Tree Week (RTW) is an annual autumn event series that celebrates Richmond's urban forests, showcases the incredible urban greening efforts happening across our city, and reaffirms our commitment to expanding tree canopy and cooling down communities. Richmond Tree Week 2026 is happening citywide from Sunday, November 1st, through Saturday, November 7th, 2026. Enjoy a variety of free tree events, including volunteer plantings, tree giveaways, walking and biking tours, educational workshops, and socials.
