This September, Southside ReLeaf is proud to participate in Idealist Days — a global movement that brings people together to take positive action in their communities through service, connection, and local impact.

Join us as we continue caring for Horse Creek at the Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Community Center alongside the Richmond Clean City Commission and Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities. Horse Creek flows through Pine Camp on its way to the Chickahominy River, and by keeping it clean, we can also keep pollution from traveling downstream through our waterways.

What?

Volunteers will help remove litter and debris from the creek area using the provided tools, such as trash grabbers and bags. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit and enjoy this beautiful green space and cooler temperatures under the canopy.

When?

Wednesday, September 9, 2026
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. (2 hours)

Where?

Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Community Center: 4901 Old Brook Road, 23227. We’ll meet at the front door of the community center, which is connected to the parking lot.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.

Do I need to sign up?
