Swansboro West Tree Planting

  • Lawson Street Richmond, VA, 23224 United States (map)

The Swansboro West Civic Association is a neighborhood group that supports the area between Hull Street and Forest Hill Avenue, roughly from Richmond High School for the Arts to Broad Rock Road and Clopton Street. Join the Swansboro West Civic Association and Richmond Tree Stewards to plant 25 trees in the Swansboro West community.

When?

Monday, January 19, 2026, from 10 am - 1 pm. Additional plantings will take place in February, March, and April.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers are needed to dig pre-augured holes for the trees, prepare each tree's root ball, and plant the trees in the ground. Volunteers do not need any experience, as several Richmond Tree Stewards will be on site to guide the work.

Where?

The planting will take place on Lawson Street. The full address will be shared upon registration.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own pair. Dress for the weather. Tools will be provided.
