During the 2026 General Assembly session, Southside ReLeaf participated in advocacy efforts supporting HB549/SB589, legislation that addresses tree-replacement requirements for development projects in Virginia.

In April 2025, Choose Clean Water Coalition members sent letters to Senator Mark Warner and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin addressing federal decisions that could impact water quality protections and environmental monitoring efforts.

In spring 2024, Southside ReLeaf led an action alert urging community members to contact the Richmond City Council to preserve funding for the Office of Sustainability’s Neighborhood Climate Resilience Grant program.
