Tell Us About Your Drinking Water

Southside ReLeaf and the University of Richmond are conducting a survey about Richmond residents’ drinking water.

Your experiences can help us better understand drinking water choices across the city — including where cost, concerns about water quality, or other factors may create barriers to accessing the water people need to live healthy lives.

Take the Survey

Richmond residents 18 and older are invited to complete a short survey about their drinking water. Depending on your answers, the survey may ask about:

  • Where you get your drinking water

  • How you feel about the quality of your tap water

  • Whether you treat your tap water before drinking it

  • Why you choose not to drink tap water, if applicable

  • How much you spend on drinking water

  • Whether the cost of drinking water has ever affected how much you drink

By sharing your experiences, you can help us identify patterns across Richmond and better understand where residents may be experiencing challenges related to drinking water.

Share Your Experience in Person

We’re also holding listening sessions around Richmond where residents can share their drinking water experiences in small-group conversations.

Listening sessions are an opportunity to talk about what drinking water looks like in your household, what works well, what challenges you experience, and what you think researchers and community organizations should understand.

Residents who attend a listening session and complete the survey in person will receive a $5 gift card to thank them for their time and participation.

You do not need to be a water expert to participate. We want to hear from you!
