Grow in-demand skills while improving local parks, vacant land, and community green spaces through a paid apprenticeship with Groundwork RVA. Apprentices earn industry-recognized certifications, gain hands-on experience, and receive job placement support.
When?
Applications are due by July 17, 2026. Interviews will be held July 27 - 31, 2026. Notice of acceptance will be sent by August 3, 2026. The apprenticeship will run from August 25 to December 11, 2026.
Where?
This apprenticeship is based in Richmond, Virginia. Groundwork RVA’s office is located at Six Points Innovation Center (3001 Meadowbridge Road).
Details?
Paid training over 4 months (classroom + field)
Schedule: Average 32 hours/week
Who’s eligible? Ages 18-24
Starting pay: $12.77/hour
Learning Outcomes?
Apprentices will learn and gain the following:
Tree care & chainsaw safety
OSHA 10 & HAZWOPER 40
Green Infrastructure Certification
First Aid/CPR
Pre-employment & life skills
Experience on City & partner projects
