Join Southside ReLeaf for a day of activation and volunteerism at Blackwell Community Garden, a new greenspace in Southside Richmond.

When?

Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Where?

Blackwell Park (also known as Charlie Sydnor Playground) is at 1400 Maury Street, Richmond, 23224. Parking is available in the new permeable parking lot. You may also park on Maury Street and in the adjacent neighborhood if the lot is full.

Volunteer Duties?

Volunteers will help to select seeds and seedlings to plant in the new garden beds. Volunteers may also help weed around fruit trees. The purpose of this garden space is to serve as a learning garden where community members can gain experience growing food and flowers.

What should I bring?

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Tools and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own equipment if you prefer.
