Join the Richmond Department of Parks & Recreation and our friends at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay in helping maintain green infrastructure and conservation landscaping at Blackwell Park on the Southside of Richmond.
When?
Friday, June 26, from 9 - 11 a.m.
Where?
Blackwell Park (also known as Charlie Sydnor Playground) is at 1400 Maury Street, Richmond, 23224. Parking is available in the new permeable parking lot. You may also park on Maury Street and in the adjacent neighborhood if the lot is full. We will meet at the roundhouse by the basketball courts.
Volunteer duties?
Volunteers will help with basic landscaping and tree care tasks such as mulching, hand weeding, fixing tree protection, and trash pickup. All tools and instructions will be provided.
What should I bring?
Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a refillable water bottle and sunscreen. Tools and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own equipment if you prefer.
