Community Open House: FEMA’s Richmond Flood Map

  • T. B. Smith Community Center 2015 Ruffin Road Richmond, VA, 23234 United States (map)

The City of Richmond is in the process of updating their federal FEMA flood risk map, which was revised through a data collection process conducted by FEMA. The City is required to adopt the updated FEMA flood map to ensure residents can access discounted flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program. The new federal flood map will mean some homeowners no longer need flood insurance, while requiring others to purchase it for the first time.

To learn more about the changes to Richmond's FEMA flood map and what they mean for you and your family, the Department of Public Utilities is hosting an open house on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 6 - 7 pm at T. B. Smith Community Center (2015 Ruffin Road). No registration is required.
